Rebates
Effective June 1, 2009, through a partnership with Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc., our power supplier, VVEC will be able to offer a better rebate program for our members. VVEC strives to help our members keep electric affordable and this rebate program is just one of the ways to help our members have the most energy efficient products available in the marketplace.
We will now offer rebates on certain electrical appliances. Included are clothes washers, dishwashers, and room air conditioners. All of these products must be Energy Star rated and the consumer must have an electric water heater to qualify for the washer rebates. The member must contact VVEC or download the rebate form from our website and have it completed and returned to VVEC within 90 days of the purchase date to qualify, certain restrictions do apply which is included on the rebate form or by contacting the Member Services department.
Appliance rebates are as follows:
Clothes Washer $100.00
Dishwasher $50.00
Room Air Conditioner $50.00
Electric Water Heaters for new construction or conversion from gas water heaters will also continue to be rebated for up to $199.00 if purchased elsewhere or full price less taxes if purchased from VVEC. However, we are also including rebates for $50.00 on replacement units when the old unit is less than .90 efficiency rate and the new unit exceeds .90 efficiency. These electric water heaters must be Energy Star rated. The member must contact VVEC or download the rebate form from our website and have it completed and returned to VVEC within 90 days of the purchase date to qualify, certain restrictions do apply and new units are subject to inspection by VVEC after installation.
Ground Source Heat Pumps will now be rebated at $300.00 per ton for new construction or conversion from gas units and must be Energy Star rated with a SEER/EER value of 14 or greater through 2009. Beginning January 1, 2010 the units must be SEER/EER rated at 14.5 or greater. Also, replacement units will now be rebated at $150 per ton but must meet the SEER/EER criteria above and be a gain of at least 3 SEER/EER value from the old unit. Certain restrictions apply which can be found on the rebate form.
Air Source Heat pumps (including electric resistance backups) will only be rebated at $150.00 per ton for new construction (must also have electric water heater) or conversion from gas units. Dual Fuel Heat Pumps will be rebated at $150.00 per ton for new construction or replacement of existing electric resistance, dual fuel, natural gas, propane or fuel oil heating systems (dual fuel pump must have a back-up automatic thermostat controlled fuel system for supplemental heat). Air Source and Dual Fuel heat pumps must be Energy Star rated with the same SEER/EER values as listed above. Certain restrictions do apply and new units are subject to inspection by VVEC after installation.
