Making your life more enjoyable is an important part of our mission and purpose. One of the ways we do that is to offer appliances and products that enhance your life or help with your energy efficiency efforts.

MECO Electric Grills

At our Co-op store, you can choose from a variety of grills to delight both the discriminating cook or the entire family. There are a variety of features and prices available. And don’t think grills are just for summer use. These are so easy to use, you will enjoy cooking delicious meals on them throughout the year.

Several of our MECO electric grills are portable and offer features such as fold-away side tables, sturdy body and legs, 200 square inches of usable cooking surface, thermostatic-controlled heating elements, and a standard 120-volt grounded plug.

Electric Stoves and Fireplaces

No matter if we have a harsh or mild winter, an electric fireplace or stove will add a cozy atmosphere to your home. We have a variety of beautiful finishes to choose from. The mantels surround the fireplaces that can even produce ‘fire burning’ sound effects.

We offer a variety of different electric fireplaces and stoves that can give you the sight and sound – and even the heat – of a traditional wood burning fireplace. They come in a variety of styles and colors, so you’re sure to find one that will complement your home’s decor.

They are all reasonably priced and make great gifts.

Energy-Efficient Electric Water Heaters

We also offer A. O. Smith energy-efficient electric water heaters in 30-, 40- and 50-gallon sizes.

Early Warning Systems

The HomeSafe 2000 HS early warning system sounds an ‘alert’ when severe weather is in your area.
The device is equipped with all seven NOAA channels, plus you can program your specific geographic area for maximum reception of local weather reports and severe weather bulletins.

The HomeSafe 2000 HS is $94.71, plus tax. It comes programmed to your counties (up to six), and includes a one year warranty, AC and DC power cord adapters, and a connector for an external antenna.

To help protect area students, we donate a HomeSafe 2000 weather monitor system to a school system in our service territory each year. We provide the school system with monitors to place in each school, usually in the principals’ offices.

The weather monitors are on display in our Collinsville office.

Surge Suppressors

The Sycom Surge Suppression System protects your home’s appliances and sensitive electronic equipment with state-of-the-art equipment at a very economical price.

The two-part protection begins at the meter with a unit designed to prevent high-voltage spikes from entering your home. It’s installed by VVEC personnel and redirects spikes and surges to your grounding system.

The second part of the protection involves special plug-in protectors for each specific piece of electronic equipment you choose to protect in your home.

The meter-base unit is $117.60; and in-house devices range from $35.60 to $60.40, before tax. There is no charge for installing a meter unit on new services, but there is a $25 charge for installation on existing services.
