Using electricity efficiently – and saving money on your monthly electric bills – is becoming more important as resources diminish and costs increase. But many members are uncertain how to use electricity efficiently and where to start using energy saving practices.

The best way to learn is with a free energy audit.

The energy audit is performed at your home or business by one of our trained auditors. He will inspect the building, its doors, windows, roof and insulation, along with noting what type of exterior it has, such as brick or siding, and its age. He will note what type of heating and air conditioning system you have, its age and condition. He will also note if your appliances are electric or gas.

He will also visit with you about your family’s lifestyle, making note of how many people live with you, and specific electric usage indicators such as how many loads of laundry you do each week, how many meals you prepare, how many televisions are typically in use.

This information will help him determine where you are spending your energy dollars, and will enable him to point out hidden money-wasters, along with making practical, useful suggestions that will help you use electricity more efficiently, and save money on your electric bill, while remaining comfortable.
